Other Brain Boosters to Improve Health

There is a never-ending list of all of the “other” brain supplements on the market today outside of the standards – and the list just keeps growing as the market demand increases. While not the usual brain supplement candidates like; amino-acids, herbs, multi-vitamins and so on, these brain supplements are picking up speed in the media as they usually amount to alternative forms of common medical drugs, but under the label of “all natural.”

Like with all brain supplements, there are usually two main category groups to choose from:

But as previously mentioned, the issues with some of these unknown other brain supplements on the market are their credibility and whether the manufacturer’s claims are actually realistic when an ingredient is so new on the market. Of course, clinical studies are always mentioned to substantiate the claims, but do you know how many test subjects are commonly used on the average clinical study conducted? Typically 50-100 people or test subjects. How can that compare to proven brain supplement ingredients which have been used by millions/billions of people over thousands of years? For example, there is no new invention or ingredient alternative to replace the amino acids our brain and bodies need every 24 hours. This science is not changing anytime soon.

Another challenge can be that all too frequently a manufacturer will mask or hide these unknown ingredients in the proprietary category of the label to make the ingredient appear more special and mysterious. The big problem is that now; 1) you have to research what the ingredient name represents; and 2) they legally do not have to list the amount of the ingredient there, so you have no idea how much of this unknown substance you are actually consuming.

Other keyword phrases you may find in the advertising; “new ‘breakthroughs’ in medical science,” “from the inner depths of an unknown jungle,” or “supplement known to cure thousands of tribal people for 1000’s of years” to name just a few of the popular ones. Of course, these attempts to market and excite the customer by promoting mysterious and new may get you to the cash register, but you may be sorry later when the money is gone and you notice the supplements aren’t working.

While one may easily dismiss seemingly suspicious ingredients, like jelly fish, natural lithium or some completely out there extract, there are reasons to be cautious about what you are consuming. Trust your instinct, do thorough research and start safe and stay strong.
